Restoring vSphere virtual machines
Mounting VM Snapshot to vSphere
- Login to Rubrik web UI. (10.100.0.225)
- Navigate to Virtual Machines>vSphere VMs
- Select VM You want to restore
- Under Snapshots, select the date and time of the snapshot you want to restore
- Click on the circle with three dots of the selected snapshot
- Select Mount VM
- Click on Main_Cluster then Select the Host where you want to mount the VM
- Click Mount
Mount VHD to existing VM
- Login to Rubrik web UI. (10.100.0.225)
- Navigate to Virtual Machines>vSphere VMs
- Select VM You want to restore
- Under Snapshots, select the date and time of the snapshot you want to restore
- Click on the circle with three dots of the selected snapshot
- Select Mount Virtual Disk
- Select the disk you wish to mount then click Next
- Select the VM where you want to mount the disk and click Mount
Instant Recovery Snapshot
- Login to Rubrik web UI. (10.100.0.225)
- Navigate to Virtual Machines>vSphere VMs
- Select VM You want to restore
- Under Snapshots, select the date and time of the snapshot you want to restore
- Click on the circle with three dots of the selected snapshot
- Select Instant Recovery
- Click on Main_Cluster then Select the Host where you want to mount the VM
- Click Mount
In-Place Recovery
- Login to Rubrik web UI. (10.100.0.225)
- Navigate to Virtual Machines>vSphere VMs
- Select VM You want to restore
- Under Snapshots, select the date and time of the snapshot you want to restore
- Click on the circle with three dots of the selected snapshot
- Click on In-Place Recovery and click Recover
Exporting a vSphere VM snapshot to vSphere
- Login to Rubrik web UI. (10.100.0.225)
- Navigate to Virtual Machines>vSphere VMs
- Select VM You want to restore
- Under Snapshots, select the date and time of the snapshot you want to restore
- Click on the circle with three dots of the selected snapshot
- Select Export
- Click on Main Cluster and select which host to restore VM and click Next
- Select the datastore where you want to save the VM and click Next
- Click on Export (Once completer VM should appear in vSphere with the current date)
